About the Project

Welcome to JET!

JET (Job Experiences Tracker) is an app that allows you to track and learn from trends in your employment experiences over time while also contributing anonymously to a global project to understand how to improve employment support.

How can JET help me?

Employment plays a critical role in providing financial secuirty, managing physical and mental wellbeing, and enabling many people to live independent lives. Understanding the barriers people face in finding employment, what works or doesn’t work when they start employment, and how often particular challenges are faced during employment, is not easy with hindsight alone.

JET allows you to record your experiences of employment by tracking factors such as:

  • Perceptions of performance
  • Mental health including stress, depression and anxiety
  • Confidence
  • Organisational culture
  • Adjustments to make work more enabling and accessible

More about the project

JET is part of the DARE (Discover Autism Research and Employment) project. DARE is an initiative between Autistica and the Centre for Research in Autism and Education (CRAE) at UCL, which is aimed at tackling the employment barriers that people with hidden diversity face.

How do I get started?

In this early stage of development, JET is an invite-only platform. To get started you’ll need to get in touch with the lead researcher Dr Brett Heasman (b.heasman@ucl.ac.uk) to complete an online questionnaire from UCL first. You’ll then be assigned an anonymous ID and login details to use the app.

Using JET

Your ‘Dashboard’ is your gateway to tacking questionnaires, viewing analytics and observing trends over time. Each page also has a screen reader and the ‘blue man’ icon on the right of the screen enables you to alter the visual appearance of the page.
